Poachers Pantry acknowledges the we live and work on the land traditionally owned by the Ngunnawal people. We recognise their continued connection to the land. We pay our respects to them.
The Bruce family bought the farm that is now home to Poachers Pantry in 1973. Three generations currently live on the property. Poachers began as a smokehouse producing smoked meats in 1991. In 1998 the first vines were planted in the 50 acre Wily Trout Vineyard, now the Poachers Vinyard.
In 2002 our Cafe was built, providing a warm place for guests to try the meats and the wine produced on the farm.
In 2007 our first wedding was held on the Homestead Lawn under the stunning Golden Elm tree.
In 2016, the cafe was renovated, becoming lighter and brighter, and now known as the Poachers Restaurant and Cellar Door.
Over the years, our family business has grown and evolved; with new products, changing menus, expanding vineyards and garden. A place of comfort that invites people to celebrate, relax, enjoy wonderful food and wine just outside of Canberra.
